You can start contributing as soon as you begin working. In fact, your employer must automatically enroll you at a rate of $0.50 per hour in Employee Pre-tax 401(k) contributions (unless you opt out or choose a different contribution rate by sending an Enrollment/Change/Opt-Out Form to the Fund Office by email, fax or mail). If you previously opted out, you can re-enroll and start saving at any time. Simply complete the Enrollment/Change/Opt-Out Form and give it to your employer. Please note, even if you previously opted out, you must do so each time you change employers.
REMINDER: Your Plan is a 401(k) plan, which means it is qualified under the Internal Revenue Code, and allows you to invest on a tax-deferred basis.
